Let the Wild Rumpus Start!

Last weekend we celebrated my own little wild thing's 3rd Birthday. Grace totally came up with the theme a few months ago, and while I admit I was shocked at the idea at first, I quickly fell in love with it. We both had a lot of fun getting it all ready, and it reminded me how much of a classic the story truly is (and not only because I ordered 6 copies of the book from ebay to cut up and make decorations out of and would have to read them all, one after another to her before bed. :) Most of the things we used were either from the books or from awesome fellow etsy sellers...

Clockwise from top left corner: fondant cake toppers from http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheLilDetails, pinwheel, paper characters, story book on a clothesline all from recycled books, the adorable tiny crown clip from http://www.etsy.com/shop/Dariami, bottle cap precut images that I strung on yarn from http://www.etsy.com/shop/zwillinge97, paper straws to go into the mason jar tumblers from http://www.etsy.com/shop/MakingMemoriesFun, and eco-friendly utensils with quotes from the book from http://www.etsy.com/shop/SucreandSpice

It really was handmade from the heart. I feel like in a world full of mass produced, sometimes a little "handmade" can put things in perspective and be inspiring. ;)
