mother's day giveaway!!
As each year goes by, I often wonder what I would do without my mom. Now that I have my own little nugget, I appreciate everything my mom has done for me and given me with an even greater abundance. As any mother knows, it is no easy job. It is a life long journey of sacrifices, silliness, rules, play dough in the carpet, masterpieces on the walls, never ending negotiations, memories, ups, downs and everything in between. It's a day to day commitment with no pause or fast forward, and yet we wouldn't change a thing... I will never forget the first time I heard Grace cry when she was born, I remember immediately thinking "that's her" without a doubt, it was her. It was the first time I had heard a peep from her, yet it was the most familiar sound I had ever heard. That feeling, I will never forget... it was the most amazing thing I had ever felt and that was just the beginning of this amazing connection... The connection of momma and child. :)
In honor of moms, Dainty Cheeks is going to give away a 50$ Gift Certificate to one lucky winner. All you have to do is click "post" and leave a comment under this entry with your name, email address, and your favorite part about being a mom. OR leave a comment on Dainty Cheeks Facebook page and share what the best part about being a mom is here: Enter HERE!
Winner will be chosen Mother's Day by my mom. :) So c'mon, get creative and share what you love!

Design your own dress
Right now there are 2 styles, either flowers cascading down across the front and a solid sash, or the 3 rows of ruffles and a flower sash. The wonderful thing about these is they are comfy!! No itchy fabric here, just cotton. and they are totally customizable...
1. Pick your style
2. Pick your flower type: rose, wild flower, poppy, or "mixed bouquet"
3. Pick your color
Stay tuned for them to be added to the shop :)
Let the Wild Rumpus Start!
Last weekend we celebrated my own little wild thing's 3rd Birthday. Grace totally came up with the theme a few months ago, and while I admit I was shocked at the idea at first, I quickly fell in love with it. We both had a lot of fun getting it all ready, and it reminded me how much of a classic the story truly is (and not only because I ordered 6 copies of the book from ebay to cut up and make decorations out of and would have to read them all, one after another to her before bed. :) Most of the things we used were either from the books or from awesome fellow etsy sellers...
Clockwise from top left corner: fondant cake toppers from http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheLilDetails, pinwheel, paper characters, story book on a clothesline all from recycled books, the adorable tiny crown clip from http://www.etsy.com/shop/Dariami, bottle cap precut images that I strung on yarn from http://www.etsy.com/shop/zwillinge97, paper straws to go into the mason jar tumblers from http://www.etsy.com/shop/MakingMemoriesFun, and eco-friendly utensils with quotes from the book from http://www.etsy.com/shop/SucreandSpice
It really was handmade from the heart. I feel like in a world full of mass produced, sometimes a little "handmade" can put things in perspective and be inspiring. ;)
